Home to Hong Kong’s first and only bilingual BA degree in creative writing, the Creative and Professional Writing Programme at Hong Kong Baptist University is proud to host Creative Writing in the Academy: An International Symposium on 11-12 November 2016. This event explores the nature of English and Chinese-language creative writing as an academic discipline at the tertiary level. We examine the international rise of creative writing programmes from historical, pedagogical and ideological perspectives by fostering a dialogue with prominent international and local writers who teach creative writing. The symposium features bilingual panels during the day and literary readings in the evening.

浸大人文及創作系「創意及專業寫作」課程將於2016年11月11-12日期間舉行「象牙塔裡的創意寫作？」國際研討會。於2013年成立的「創意及專業寫作」課程是亞洲區內第一個雙語寫作學位課程。我們期望通過是次研討會，從歷史、教育及意識形態等多方面，探討創意寫作課程於國際間的興起、意義及具體內涵。是次研討會有幸邀得國際及香港具有創意寫作教育經驗的重要作家及學者參加。會議將以中英雙語進行，日間舉行專題小組研討，而黃昏設作家朗讀環節。
